BEST PLACES TO STAY AND EAT IN BAHIA DE BANDERAS

VERSALLES AND FLUVIAL

Disarming charm and that rare quality called "serenity"! If that's what appeals to you, these adjoining neighborhoods represent the best Puerto Vallarta has to offer. The mountain backdrop - centuries in the making - add to their unique allure. Canadian ex-pats and snowbirds particularly appreciate the high-quality lifestyle that we can find in these two neighborhoods.

Modern, single-family homes and parks are the Fluvial signature features. Versalles, on the other hand, promises luxurious condo lifestyle opportunities with exciting new construction and development. You will find international cuisine in Versalles from Taiwanese to Greek, French bakeries, delis, bistros and cafés giving the atmosphere of this promising residential neighborhood.

With its mix of old and new, the combined community of Fluvial and Versalles isn’t the next big thing - it's already a big thing! New businesses are sprouting up, blending in with the established ones owned and run by families for generations. When you choose Fluvial or Versalles, you're buying into comfortable privacy. Yet, you’re only minutes away from the downtown nightlife and popular white-sand beaches.

Close at hand, you'll find private and public schools, Costco, Walmart, Plazas, supermarkets, cinemas, gyms, and cutting-edge healthcare facilities. The hotel zone is on the one side; Marina Vallarta, with its championship golf course on the other, and the region's international airport nearby. In short, few locations offer better real estate value than Fluvial and Versalles.

MARINA VALLARTA

Finding your dream home or vacation rental in the Marina, one of Puerto Vallarta's most desired residential waterfront locations, is one connection away.

RESORT LIVING AT ITS BEST

Travel only fifteen minutes going north of downtown Puerto Vallarta or approximately five minutes from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport: You'll likely enter a uniquely luxurious enclave - Marina Vallarta. In case you imagined the entire region as a resort, Marina takes the concept of carefree living to a whole new level. With its iconic containment of yachts, boats, and charter liners, plus boasting its heralded championship 18-hole golf course, this resort within a resort never fails to wow visitors and residents alike. The celebrations here never seem to end, as day blends into night, bringing music and lights from Marina’s many entertainment establishments up and down the boardwalk. The Marina neighborhood is a preferred spot to laze a balmy afternoon away, browsing the five hundred boat slips, shopping, and enjoying the many restaurants lining the streets. Families with children won't get bored here.

Luxury hotels and rental properties in the vicinity align their services to meet the guests' highest expectations with spas, accommodations, and poolside services that match international industry-best standards. The latter include the Marriott, Westin Regina, Melia, and more. Ex-pats are clamoring to take advantage of the new condo and housing developments on or close to the Marina. Private schools, excellent healthcare facilities, and, of course, superlative maritime services are lifestyle support features that add to Marina’s allure.

The Marina boardwalk is the centerpiece of the resort. There you’ll find a range of eateries and bars that offer casual (inexpensive) to fine-dining options. Enjoy an assortment of coffee shops (Starbucks being one), delis, bakeries, gelato outlets, and the convenience of a supermarket. The Marina Lighthouse’s eye-popping sea and landscape views with fantastic sunsets evening after evening create a romantic backdrop that visitors never seem to tire of. The atmosphere is one of relaxation, blending seamlessly with the visions of sleek yachts in the sparkling blue waters. It has all converged to uplift the real estate prices relative to other sections of Puerto Vallarta.

ZONA ROMANTICA

If you are looking for Mexican authenticity with top-class resort living, Zona Romantica is the place for you. It's home to ex-pats, retirees, and snowbirds from the USA and Canada alike. They cannot get enough of the many bars, stores, cafés, restaurants, and friendly people that give this community its colorful character.

Live on the beachfront or within walking distance of it. Stay connected to the action whenever you want it. The cobblestone streets and open-air markets contrasting against modern condo buildings make this one of Puerto Vallarta's most popular locations for real estate investment and laying down one’s roots. The LGTB community has congregated here, a standout symbol of Zona Romántica's diversity.

For those seeking an active, never-a-moment-of-boredom lifestyle, Zona Romántica is where it's at. BUCERIAS

It is a town in the municipality of Bahía de Banderas in the Mexican state of Nayarit. It is part of the Riviera Nayarit and north of Nuevo Vallarta. Its origin dates back to around 1864 when Spanish ships visited the town to market wood, so the first name for the area was Santa Julia de las tablas. Bucerías, meaning "place of divers,” has more than 20,000 inhabitants today. Hundreds of tourists, Spanish, Americans, Canadians, among others, visit every year. It is a very large multicultural town with more than ten religions, predominantly Catholic, who speak English and Spanish, and indigenous languages.

Bucerias is a charming antidote to the hustle and bustle of nearby Puerto Vallarta. Instead, you’ll meet the friendly locals and enjoy beautiful beaches, fantastic dining, outdoor activities, and art galleries. Locals congregate in the small plaza in the center of town or head for the beach for sun and unfettered mountain and bay views.

Beyond the shores of Bucerias, you’ll find superb dining, flea markets laden with unique treasures, art galleries, and pubs. Once you’ve tired of the sun, meander through the flea market off the central plaza and tour the residential side of Bucerias, complete with boutique shopping and quality restaurants like La Quinta di Francesco and Adriatico.

Some of the best art galleries in town include Splurge Art Gallery, showcasing emerging local artists and designer pewter. On Thursday evenings, participate in the local art walk, and on Sundays, visit the authentic Mexican market. From Bucerias, explore other Riviera Nayarit locations such as Sayulita, Punta Mita, and San Francisco (San Pancho) – they’re all accessible by cheap, frequent bus service.
